David Crivelli, PLS is the President and co-owner of Points West Surveying Company. Mr. Crivelli has over 25 years of experience in the survey field. Mr. Crivelli graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in Land Surveying and Photogrammetry. He is active in the California Land Surveyors Association and has served as President and State representative for the local chapter of CLSA.?
He was the lead surveyor for the Mad River Water Parallel Pipeline project which involved all aspects of surveying- GPS Control, Aerial Surveys, Boundary and easement retracement, topographic mapping, and construction staking. He has performed numerous boundary surveys for public and private clients. Mr. Crivelli has been the lead surveyor on a multitude of construction surveys for highways, hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, condos, townhouses, sewer and water plants, and subdivisions. Projects include Intel and AMD campuses, Highway 880/85 Interchange, Stanford Hospital, the Crescent City Home Depot, and the City of Eureka Boardwalk.
Mr. Crivelli began his career in the San Francisco Bay Area, working throughout that region for over 10 years. He is familiar with local jurisdictions and worked for Oscar Larson and Associates prior to forming Points West Surveying Company.

Michael D. Pulley, PLS is a principal of Points West Surveying Company.? Mr. Pulley has over 17 years of experience in all types of surveying projects.? He is versed in the latest technology in the surveying field, having utilized robotic total stations, reflectorless instrumentation, and GPS equipment to provide cost and time efficient solutions for the survey needs of his clients.
Mr. Pulley has performed ALTA surveys, condominium conversions, aerial control surveys, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and numerous minor subdivisions at Points West.? Mr. Pulley provides surveying services to various private clients, public entities such as the County of Humboldt, Resort Improvement District No. 1, and Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District, local civil engineering firms, and general construction contractors.? Mr. Pulley provides construction staking for a variety of projects ranging from water transmission line installations to roadway construction to pile driving in Humboldt Bay.? Mr. Pulley assists clients with the permitting process for minor subdivisions, lot line adjustments, and coastal development permits.
The Humboldt County Superior Court appointed Mr. Pulley as a referee in a matter involving a possible division of a property among multiple ownership interests and has served as expert witness in several court cases.

Bill Pool is the primary CAD drafter for Points West Surveying.? Bill has an Associates degree in Architectural Drafting from Denver Institute of Technology.?He is proficient in all aspects of engineering and survey drafting with 17 years of experience.?Bill is very skilled at artful presentation of surveying and engineering data; his maps are accurate, clear, and concise.
Ryan Baxter is a field and office surveyor for Points West Surveying. Ryan has been in the survey field for 8 years. He is experienced with a variety of survey total stations and data collection software. Ryan works as a chainman and party chief utilizing robotic total stations and GPS equipment.
Jesse Buffington, PLS is our Professional Planner. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Regional Development and Planning. His education and experience as a planner and former Building Department official for the County of Humboldt have proven to be valuable in efficient processing of projects. Jesse has been the planning and public works facilitator for numerous projects, seeing them through the approval process as owner’s agent on land development projects. He became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in 2016 and works in the field as a Party Chief.
All staff at Points West Surveying Company are members of the California Land Surveyors Association and regularly attend continuing education seminars. This enables us to stay on top of the rapid changes in survey technology. We employ the latest equipment including robotic total stations and survey-grade GPS equipment. Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) utilizing Autocad Land Desktop and Civil 3D Software and a photo quality HP wide format plotters allow us to produce accurate and clear survey products.
David Crivelli and Michael Pulley received a CELSOC Honor Award for City of Eureka’s Mad River Pipeline Survey, February 2004. The Award recognized innovative use of cutting edge technology in retracing 60-year old pipeline easement through an environmentally sensitive habitat.?The project included topographic mapping of the 6 mile long project corridor, preparation of easements for additional right of way acquisitions, and GPS control. Construction of a $4 million parallel pipeline over a portion of the project was successfully completed in September 2003.
